The Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Singers (RCS) was established in 2010, under the artistic direction of Jin Chengzhi. Initially, the RCS began as a choral hobby group composed of students from the Conducting Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. One of RCS's defining characteristics is their focus on performing original compositions. Jin Chengzhi has contributed over a hundred original choral works to the ensemble, including nine choral suites. These works vividly portray the daily lives and spiritual world of contemporary individuals, showcasing diverse musical styles and themes. To date, RCS and has amassed millions of followers on Chinese social media and has held over a hundred dedicated concerts in iconic music halls across numerous cities, including the Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall.In 2023, RCS won the second place in the 54th Choral Contest of Tolosa.
