The Start of the Orlando Panthers came in the fall of 2001, when a small group of friends decided to come together and form a local recreational softball team. The original team was comprised of friends and coworkers with the goal of blowing off steam and relaxing one night a week. Since all the team members lived in central Florida, Osceola County Complex seemed the perfect place to start the team. During the first few years together the team was satisfied playing against lower recreational competition, without any greater team ambitions. With some early success the team members came a realization that they had something special, so the team expanded to a second day & league with a team in Disney's cast member league. With the Panthers playing two nights a week in two different leagues, the teams reputation began to grow. These early years allowed the team to develop and progressively improve their skills and recruit a roster of increasingly talented players. From 2004-2007 the newly improved Panthers found a new level of success, as they collected 8 straight league titles, and 5 season ending tournament trophies. The continuous winning made it clear that the team needed to move up and face the highest level of completion available, little did they know central Florida was the hub of men's competitive softball. The move into the Osceola Upper Competitive Division meant the Panthers would now be facing the best talent Central Florida had to offer. The Upper Division's level of competition is so extreme that even many professional players choose Osceola's league nights to sharpen their skills. To no one's surprise the Panthers continued to win as their reputation began to spread beyond Osceola, and central Florida. They always say if you want to be the best, you better play the best... and as a result the Panthers collected 6 Upper Division Titles and 10 tournament Championships. Since 2008 the Panthers have become a force in Florida's softball community as the team has extended its reach into a third league & the creation of a weekend travel tournament team.
