About GIZ Laos
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic is experiencing rapid economic growth but still is among the least developed countries. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, as part of German Development Cooperation, is supporting the Lao Government in reaching its ambitious development goals.
GIZ is a German federal enterprise that is implementing projects primarily on behalf of the German Government. It offers demand-driven, tailor-made and effective services for sustainable development.
GIZ has been active in Laos since 1993 and is currently running numerous projects in two priority areas: supporting rural development and sustainable economic cooperation. Moreover, GIZ Laos engages in good governance and participates in regional programmes, for example with the Mekong River Commission.
More than 270 staff members bring its projects to life.
