For American singer/songwriter/actor Joshua Winslow "Josh" Groban, his career got off to a rather unexpected start. Groban was born in Los Angeles, California on February 27, 1981. While studying acting at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, his voice coach got him a sit down with world-famous composer David Foster. When Foster asked him to fill-in for Andrea Bocelli while rehearsing for the 1998 Grammy Awards. The duet with Celine Dion was enough to get him an appearance on the Rosie O'Donnell Show. After a couple of further TV appearance's on the hit series, Ally McBeal, Groban was picked up by Warner Bros. Records. His self-titled debut album was released in 2001. The album showed worldwide appeal while peaking at No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart. The album's first single, "To Where You Are", hit the top of the Adult Contemporary Chart. His follow-up album proved to be the career changer. When Closer was released in November of 2003, it wasted no time hitting the top of the Billboard Albums Chart with over 6 million copies sold in the United States alone. The single "You Raise Me Up" gave Groban his second No. 1 single on the Adult Contemporary Chart. In October of 2007, Groban released the Christmas Album Noël. The album sold close to 6 million copies, making it one of the most successful holiday albums in the last thirty years. His rendition of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" was strong enough to hit No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, a truly remarkable feat for a Christmas song. With his beautiful voice and wonderful demeanor, Groban has been a frequent guests on talk shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmell Live.
