Abu Dhabi Airports is one of the world's fastest growing airport operators with a mission to deliver world-class services that meet the highest international standards and regulations. The Company, established in 2006 owns, manages and develops five airports which include Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport. Abu Dhabi Airports also supervises airport services offered by several long-standing partners and has established and regulates Free Zones tied to its international airports. To meet growing passenger and cargo demand at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Abu Dhabi Airports has begun construction on the Midfield Terminal Building, the largest singular airport terminal building in the world. The Midfield Terminal Building, the new gateway to the Capital of the UAE, and the future home of Etihad Airways, is on track to be completed in 2019. Totaling 700,000 square metres in size, the Building will serve 80 million passengers a year.
