My name is Hakeem Profit & I’ve followed the NBA since the ’90s, but I have been betting professionally for 6+ years. The game continues to change, but one thing remains the same. In an 82-game season, it’s extremely difficult to get up for every game. We work to identify the situations/spots that give one team an advantage or disadvantage and live with the results of making a good bet. Personally, the NBA is the easiest for me to identify edges. As a result, last season was the first year I gave volume betting a shot, and it was a success! When you have an edge in a game, you bet it! I’ve started creating my own line similar to a -1 in baseball or hockey, which allows me to better take advantage of situations based on implied probability. Last season after a dreadful first 2 weeks (being too aggressive too early without data), I gained 92.17 units on 902 NBA plays for an overall gain of about 45 units.
